Adding Products to the Website

1. Duplicate an Existing Product

Go to:

Products → All Products

Find an existing product that is similar to the new product you want to add.

Hover over the product and click Duplicate.

This will create a copy of the existing product, which you can then edit.

Update the duplicated product

Change the following information:

• Product Name – enter the name of the new product.
• Product Description – replace the existing description with the new product information.
• Product Image – replace the existing image with the image of the new product.
• Price – enter the correct price.
• Category – select the category that the product belongs to.
• Other information – check the remaining product information and update anything that is different from the original product.

Once everything is correct, click Publish.

2. Adding a New Product Category

This is only necessary when the category you need does not already exist.

Go to:

Products → Categories

You will see the existing categories.

For example:

• Our Shop – Main shop category
  • Chopping Boards – Product category

Create a new category

Click Add New Category.

Enter:

Name:
The name of the new product category.

Slug:
This can normally be left blank, as WordPress will create it automatically.

Parent Category:
If the new category belongs under Our Shop, select Our Shop as the parent category.

Image:
Upload the image that should represent the category.

Then click Add New Category.

Our Shop
↳ Chopping Boards
↳ Serving Boards

3. Adding the New Product to the Category

After creating the category, go back to:

Products → All Products

Duplicate the appropriate existing product.

When editing the new product, find Product Categories and select the new category.

For example:☑ Serving Boards

Then publish the product.
